I went out trick or treating tonight. Mom and Dad say that when I’m older I’ll get candy, but tonight we gave out candy to the people we visited. It was mostly mom and dad’s friends who live near us. They say they were showing me off.

They say I was supposed to be a giraffe, but I thought I was a little girl. This is all very confusing.

It’s getting colder here, but I was all dressed up in so many clothes that I could hardly move. After we were out for a long long time I got tired and cranky and started crying and we had to go home.

And hey - I just found out that my mom’s birthday is on November 27th. My birthday is on May 27th. That means that both our birthdays are on 27ths, and we’re exactly six months apart. I think that’s neat.

I’m five months old today. And for a five-month-birthday present, I got to hang out with my dad all day! My mom and Omi were gone all day - dad says they were running around like crazy women, all to get ready for some big hollow ween ball tonight. I don’t even know what a ween is.

I spent a lot of time playing with my favorite plastic crinkly teething book and I watched Baby Beethoven two times! I took two big long naps and got to look at the kitty and sat on daddy’s lap while he did his computer. And I made a big poop. Dad says after 12 months I don’t get a birthday every month anymore but I think that’s sad.

I know how to grab things now. Any time I sit on someone’s lap I grab anything I see on the table in front of me. I want to put it all in my mouth. It’s fun.

Oh no! I just found out that my daddy is a geek!!! They even made him wear a shirt that says geek today. I don’t know what that means but it sounds scary. I hope it’s not contagious. I don’t think it’s too bad ’cause my mommy is always hugging and kissing him and I think he smells real good. I love my daddy.

Today was the first time I ever sat up on my own for real. When you’re sitting, it’s real weird cause you can see around you way more than when you’re lying on your back. I still had the pillow thing around me, but it wasn’t holding me up too much. Besides, it was my first time sitting and I’m still getting used to it. There was this big flat thing in front of me with all these colors and animals on it and when I touched it it made noises! It was so neat. I hope I get to see it again. It’s a whole lot of fun to sit up. It’s like my new superpower. My dad says I’m going to run a marathon next week.

I also moved out of my little co-sleeper and into a huge crib. It’s so big! You can see a picture of me in it here. The other bed was getting smaller and smaller and now I’m in this new big one and my mom says I’ll be in it for the next few years. I don’t know what a year is, but I’ll bet it’s a whole long big time.

We’re back from the Land of Florida now. I liked hanging out on the beach and I thought we were gonna live there, but it’s nice to be back home again with my own bed and my dad and my toys.

Yesterday was the worst day of my life. I went to someone called P.D. Trician and they stabbed me in the leg with a big needle. Then I got all hot and spent all day crying. My Omi and my parents held me all the time, which made me feel a little better, but only a little.

I got measured again too. I’m 16 pounds, which is in the 50th percentile for my age, but my height is off the chart. Am I gonna be tall? My dad says I grew a lot since last time he saw me. Maybe I’m gonna be tall.
