Bad Dreams

March7

Reading in bedI had a bad dream last night. Daddy says that people probably don’t know the kinds of things that three-year-olds have bad dreams about, so I’m supposed to write it here.

I had a dream that there was a race. I was there, and daddy and mommy, and Cristina who used to live in Colorado and now lives in Hawaii. There were also animals racing: an elephant and a cat and a moose.

So we were all running and I was really close to the finish line. I was so close! But then Cristina won. Only Cristina wins! And I was so sad because I wanted to win.

Mommy and daddy tell me that it’s ok not to win every time but that was still a bad dream.

Our World

February17

This is a video of me reading my atlas to my daddy before bedtime tonight. It’s called “Our World”, and it’s one of my favorite books. I can read at what daddy calls a “second grade level”.

I also surprised my daddy tonight by randomly coming out and saying “Mandarin Chinese” for no reason.

Snowman

It snowed a lot today and daddy didn’t go to work. He stayed home and we went outside together and built a snowman! And I made snow angels and threw snowballs. And I caught snowflakes on my tongue. It was really fun.

I Can Read!

November30

Look at me! I can read!

This is me reading my new Green Eggs and Ham book for the second time ever. The first time I kept saying “Green Eggs and Hamster”, but my daddy told me the right way to say ham.

Making a face.

This is a picture my daddy took with his phone. He’s seeing if he can send it to this website with his phone.

Camp

September8

We just had labor day weekend and I went with my mommy and daddy and grammy and pepere to family camp at Camp Woodstock. It was fun. Uncle Glenn came with miss Jen, and Uncle Sean came with miss Victoria and Vincent. I like to play with Vincent.

We all stayed in a big cavin in the woods that had lots of beds. There was a patio on the back that was right next to the lake and mommy and miss Jen did yoda exercises on the patio. And later daddy took me on a ride in a boat and we saw mommy and grammy and pepere on the patio.

We went on a beaver hike and I got to see a beaver near its dam, and we learned how to call owls. Hoo! Hoo!

But the most fun part was when they had a talent show and I got my turn to sing in front of everybody. There must have been sixty people there in the bleachers watching when my turn came. Daddy and Mommy brought me up and I climbed up the stairs on the stage and I said “This is a stand-up song!” and all the people said together “WE LOVE STAND UP SONGS!” and all the people talking together were so loud that I got a little scared but then I said “You can sing with me. You can sing louder than me. Okay. Ready go!” Then I sang the A-B-C song and everybody sang with me. And then everybody clapped for me. It was a lot of fun.

Daddy says that he’s so proud of me.

On Abandonment

August30

Here follows an exchange between my dad and myself at the grocery store. Coming out, I was sitting in the shopping cart and dad pushed us up next to our car.

Dad: “Okay, Lia. I’m gonna put the groceries in the car, then I’m gonna put you in the car.”
Me: “Don’t put me in the car!”
Dad: “Lia, we’re going home! What, do you want to stay here in the parking lot all by yourself?”

Here, I stopped for a few seconds and just thought.

Me: “What happens I stay here by myself?”
Dad: “Lia. I’d never leave you here by yourself.”
Me: “But what happen me you leave me here by myself?”
Dad: “I would never leave you all alone. I love you. I always want to protect you.”
Me: “Daddy! What happens me I stay here by myself?”
Dad: “Daddy or Mommy would come find you. We want to keep you safe.”
Me: “Bad people come get me?”
Dad: “If you were here all by yourself, you should go find a police man to help you.”

My dad can be so frustrating sometimes. All I was looking for was a simple straight answer.

Potty Trained

July19

I’m getting potty trained. I go pee pee on the potty all the time now. I stayed dry for a whole week and I wear big girl underwear now! I was so good that daddy and mommy took me to the mall to buy Woody and Buzz Lightyear!
